On 24th May 2009 the sun was doing some serious shining; how could it fail to when so many wonderful doodles were in one place at the same time! Our very first Labradoodle Trust Fun Day was a fantastic success thanks to our supporters, some of whom had travelled from as far afield as Manchester and Chesterfield with their dogs. We didn’t want to exclude any one so classes were held for all dogs whether they were pedigree, mongrel, young or old but the spotlight was very much on our darling doodles.

Karma Canine hosted the agility ring all day, despite the heat, putting on displays and holding training classes, they even let us loose on the agility course! The face painter Colin never stopped, neither did the kids on the bouncy castles. The final tally isn’t in yet on how many hot dogs were consumed but there was definitely a few hot dogs waiting to compete in the show ring.

With a section of the show all to themselves the Doodles did themselves proud and put on a great show for everyone. It was fantastic to see so many different types, curly, scruffy, short and tall; but everyone a winner despite us only having rosettes for the top four places.

Our new Labradoodle Trust merchandise went down a storm too.

Many thanks to all of you who took the time to attend, and for bringing the fantastic weather with you, it was a great day, we enjoyed it so much we’ll do it all again next year!
