Paws in the Park, Kent, 13th & 14th September 2008

Teetotallers would have found difficulty locating our stand this year as we were located in the beer tent which was slightly off the "beaten track".

Many people were surprised to discover that labradoodles need a rescue organisation but there was plenty of interest from people wanting to know more about doodles and Rescue.

One of the helpers this year was Midge Walster who, as an APDT trainer, was able to offer help and advice to anyone with training difficulties. Midge is also a trainer for DOGAID (dog assistance in disability) and we displayed a board showing assistance dogs (including two labradoodles) demonstrating their abilities.

We held a tombola which was very successful, as was the sale of Labradoodle Trust merchandise. The sale of bandanas was particularly good and there are now many Kentish dogs sporting colourful apparel.

We were lucky to meet many doodles, all of which behaved with impeccable manners. They would have been a reassurance to anyone who is going through the "teenage" phase with their own dogs.

Thank you to whoever organised the two days of sunny weather , it helped to make a very enjoyable weekend.
